Practical land management with a long-term view
Lefthand Land Management was established to help landowners make their land more productive and resilient while creating meaningful space for biodiversity.
The business brings together practical contracting, ecological understanding and long-term systems thinking. Our work is grounded in the belief that farming, forestry and habitat restoration do not need to be treated as separate activities. Well-planned hedgerows, trees, grasslands, water features and productive habitats can support both the land-based business and the wider landscape.

About Aidan
Lefthand is led by Aidan Laffan, a land-management contractor with a BSc in Conservation Biology and postgraduate study in Environmental Management with GIS.
Aidan's background includes estate and countryside management, habitat creation and maintenance, conservation grazing, practical vegetation management, public access and team supervision. He has worked across heathland, grassland, woodland and coastal landscapes and combines this experience with practical qualifications in chainsaw, brushcutter, ATV and off-road machinery use.
He is also developing a provenance-led native tree-seed supply and woodland-establishment service and is registered as a supplier of forest reproductive material.
